The table shows the data of six various types of the households living in the poverty in Australia in 1999.

In general, all the families in Australia were 11% or 1,837,000 people. It is clear to see that the levels of poverty were higher from single people than couples and the proportion of couple who had children were poor than those of people without children. For example, it was about 21% from sole parent. Following the table, the number of single aged person, aged couple were 6%,4% respectively. Moreover, the figure of couple with children was 12% whereas those of couple who did not have children was lower at only 7%.
