Some people feel that boarding schools (where students or pupils live at the school during the term) are an excellent option for children, while other people disagree for a number of reasons. Consider both sides of this debate and reach a conclusion.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Schools have usually been known as places where children spend time from morning until afternoon, however, there is a type of school, named boarding school, where children live there instead of just studying. Although some people believe that boarding schools can be a great choice for children, some parents find it hard to give clearance to their children to attend this type of school. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument and give a reasonable conclusion.
On the one hand, those who believe that boarding schools have benefits for children claim that after a year living far away from the family they will learn discipline and how to be independent. It is well known that boarding schools have strict rules which children have to obey. As an example, they have to exercise for an hour in the morning and before school. Cell phones and electronic devices are prohibited on campus and they have to turn off the lights after a defined hour. According to these strict routines, they will learn discipline. Another advantage of these schools for children is that living with their pupils would be extremely exciting for them.
By contrast, opponents to this view, point out that parents will lose control over their children. Especially when they are in the age of puberty, pupils and the environment have a considerable influence on children. For example, if their roommates have bad habits and unacceptable behavior, they could have negative and irrecoverable impacts. Moreover, parents are highly worried about the quality of the foods, since they are in the age of growth, they have to eat nourishing foods. Also, the cleanliness of the dormitory is another issue that neglects parents to send their children to boarding schools.
Overall, it is logical to conclude that, however studying in a boarding school is an effective choice for children to learn discipline and how to be independent, several precautions must be observed such as losing control, food, and health qualities.
