To some people studying the past has little value in the modern world. Why do you think it is important to learn the past? What will be the effect if children are not taught history?
It is believed widespread in the public that the study of yesteryear is no longer favorable at present. However, history has always been of critical importance in some humanitarian aspects that the next generation should still be educated to gain them some basic, demanding skills in the globalization era.
How does history play a key role in space-time transition? First, it tells the origins of the existences, including the scientific principles and the moral sets of values the current tribes inherit. Without knowing how and when, one can never manipulate his life and skills at the ultimately perfect performance. That is to say, the past is both the precursor and the navigator to the wide-open present and future. In a technical explanation, we can never reach the state-of-the-art technologies if the users are unaware of the fundamental methodologies and pristine concepts. Furthermore, the less we are ignorant about the erroneous attempts the predecessors contributed, the more likeliness we will not get involved with repetitive investigations – thus ensuring an adaptive and continuous development in any fields.
Among all age groups, children are definitely the prior target for history teaching. This creates the foundation for them to the latter stage of their life, as university students should know their ethnic backgrounds at the finest to distinguish themselves in an international platform. Therefore, the sooner the teaching process, the more genuinely history is engraved in their minds. Also, there are unforeseen values that can only be introduced to the kids through the scope of history. Their appreciation of the investigations and the demonstrations is one modest example worth mentioning.
To sum it all, as the role of the past has always been of vital necessity, we the human should embrace both of its presence and impacts to every target it collides with, especially the children whose futures are mainly defined by what they are taught.
