Some think newspapers are the best method for reading the news while others think other media is better. Discuss both sides and give your own opinion.

Some people are of the opinion that newspapers are the best way to read the news, but some others believe that certain other forms of media are better than them. Although reading the newspaper using smart phones and other digital devices has certain advantages, newspapers are the best way to read the newspaper.

When we use the newspaper we do not expose our eyes to blue light which is the case when we use smart phones and other digital devises to access e-paper. Blue light has the potential to cause a wide range of problems of the eyes from a minor irritation to a permanent impairment of vision. Also, many recent studies report a definite co-relation between an individual’s screen time and his or her mental health citing incidences of people suffering from depression due to prolonged use of digital devices. Additionally, we can read the news in a newspaper without being disturbed or distracted by advertisements that appear as pop-ups now and then.

On the other hand, unlike the newspaper which comes as a set of ten to fifteen leaves of long paper placed one over the other, e-newspaper, which is condensed into a small file of a size hardly five kilobytes, is much conveniently accessed when we are at home or traveling in a heavily crowded bus or train. Further, while using a e-newspaper during night travel, one does not need to bother lighting as all of the digital devices have in-built light.

In conclusion, though reading the newspaper through digital devices has certain advantages, the harm it can cause to our eyes and mental health can never be discounted. So, newspaper is the best way to read the newspaper.
