IELTS TASK 2: Some people say that what children watch influence their behaviour. Others believe the amount of time they spend on TV influences their behaviour most. Discuss bothe view, give your opinion

People hold different views about whether the content of programs children watching or how much time spent on watching TV exert an effect on their behaviour. From my perspective, what children watch is the key factor influencing how they behave.

On the one hand, children's behavior is effected by what they watch on TV, especially during formative years Firstly, movies with unhealthy content breed the future offenders. Children usually try to imitate what they see; therefore, violent movies can pave the way for the young law-breakers. However, educational programs make a significant contribution to shape their personality and behaviour. For example, cartoons always convey the value of friendship and brotherhood; thus, when watching cartoons, children learn to play with friends in harmony.

On the other hand, spending too much time on watching TV brings about some detrimental effects on children. It is obvious that nowadays, the youngsters become more inactive. Getting addicted to TV shows, they hardly get involved in outdoor activities, which play an important role in their physical development. Moreover, watching TV for a long time makes children less communicative. To illustrate, at school, those who spend the large amount of time on TV can find it hard to express their ideas as well as shy to come into contact with new friends.

In conclusion, though both two factors have their own implications, I believe that the content is more considerable. Hence, parents should pay their attention on what their children watch and create restrictions on the amount of time they spent on TV.
