IELTS Task 2: protection of wild animals and birds

Topic: Some people say that too much attention and too many resources are given in the protection of wild animals and birds. Do you agree or disagree about this opinion?

Some people argue that the protection of wild animals and birds are received too much concern and too many resources. Personally, I completely disagree with this view.

There are some clear reasons why people have to protect wild animals and birds. One reason is that living habitats of animals are being seriously damaged because of the deforestation by humans to build factories and offices. As a result, many forests have vanished, and wild animals have no place to live. Furthermore, too many animals and birds are hunted by people. The numbers of some species, such as tiger, bear or some kinds of bird, are decreasing significantly due to illegal hunting. For those reasons, people must have responsibilities for their actions in order to keep endangered species existing.

I also disagree that too many resources and too much concentration are given to preserve wild animals and birds. Firstly, funding for protecting animals are very small compared to other modern projects like space programmes or some entertainment shows. Secondly, people who work in this field are often underpaid regardless of their enthusiasm and their great deal of effort. Finally, animals protection projects are often understaffed because people often choose other professions such as teachers or engineers to earn higher salaries, and they also take animal-related jobs into granted. Governments, therefore, should take some effective measures, such as spending more funds or conducting promotion campaigns, to attract more attention from the society.

In conclusion, for the reasons I have mentioned above, I disagree that people are giving too much attention and too many resources to protect wild animals and birds.
