1. Nowadays media reports tend to focus on problems and emergencies rather than on positive development. Some people think it is harmful to individuals and to society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays the media is likely to concentrate on problems and emergencies rather than positive developments. Some people think that it bad for individuals and society but I totally disagree with these people because of following reasons:

First, showing problems and emergencies in the media instead of positive developments is a good trend because it can assist people to be more careful about what bad things which can happen to them. Since problems and emergencies showed in the media often happen in their living areas, they play a crucial role in warning them to have to be alert, which leads to their preparation for these bad situations. For instance, people can learn some essential skills such as self-protection skills, problem-solving skills and other skills in case they have to deal with these problems.

Second, the concentration on reporting problems and emergencies in the media instead of positive growth is good for people because it helps them perceive that what problems still exist so that they can find ways to solve these problems timely. If the media reports concentrate on problems and emergencies, there are more people knowing these problems, which can help them be able to be solved timely or even more quickly. The more negative stories appear in the media, the higher chance that people will become aware of it and take action towards a solution. In contrast, If these problems and emergencies are not showed in the media, people will not know about these problems’ existence. Therefore these problems will not be solved, which can result in serious consequences or even harming people’ lives.

In conclusion, the media should focus on showing problems and emergencies rather than on positive development because it helps people avoid bad things and raise people awareness of tackling problems and emergencies in life.
