Ielts Task 2- please checking my essay, thank you

1. in recent years, the family structure has changed, as have family roles. What are the changes occurring. Do you think these changes are positive or negative?

Nowadays, family structures are different from previously, with the emergence of nuclear families and the gradual disappear of extended families, as a part of the evolution of life. In my opinion, these changes have a positive effect on humans' lives.

The most clearest change occurring is nuclear families are substituted for extended families. Since, the quality of life is improved and people become more independent in every aspects of their lives such as their finance and their work, they do not need their relatives to help them. this leads to people preferring living with two generations to living with many ones. For example, most American families just include parents and their children . It is very rare to see a family including three different generations.

In my point of view, this change is a positive trend because it assists people to enhance their quality of life. Since, the cost of living is every expensive, especially in developed countries, living in a large family will become a burden to breadwinners. Clearly, the more people they live with, the more money they spend. Therefore, if people live in a family with fewer members, they will have more money to improve their quality of life by investing in food , health and education. This also can lead to creating a better life for their children and boosting the economy.

The other reason why the change of family structure is good for our lives is it reduces conflicts, which results in tighten the relationship. In fact, It is a task of challenge to mingle with others if people live in an extended family because of their different interests, habits and lifestyles. This may cause some conflicts between them or even spoil their relationship. For example, it is very difficult to live in an extended family if they do not have much in common in food, especially if one of them is a vegetarian or allergic to some kind of food. Therefore, living in a nuclear family will help them avoid conflicts because parents often get on well with their own children rather than others relatives.

In conclusion, the reduction of family members living together is an common and positive trend in the modern notion because it brings us a better life.
