Ielts task 2. Noise

Some people think that there should be some strict controls about noise. Others think that they could just make as much noise as they want. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Many people hold different views about whether they should have freedom to produce noise or comply with some rules of noise. In my opinion, it is necessary to control the level of noise strictly.

On the one hand, it is understandable why people are why people are freely allowed to produce noise arbitrarily. Specifically, generating noise is just a simple way leading people to creational activities. For example, after a hard-working day, people tend to gather to sing karaoke or cheer for a football club which immerse in relaxed mode in order to refresh their mind. Furthermore, people may fall in stressful situations or face the risks of psychological diseases if the level of noise is strictly imposed.

Howerver, I totally agree with the regulation of noise makers. Firstly, too much noise can significantly affect people’s heath. Indeed, the long-term exposure to the high pitch noise can result in auditory problems such as earache or hearing loss. Besides, noise pollution causes a number of predictable short-term physiological responses mediated through the autonomic nervous system. For example, noise causes physiological activation including the increase in heart rate and blood pressure. Therefore, individuals living in polluted-noise areas have difficulties for comfortably experiencing their daily life . Additionally, excessive level of noise can disturb the nearby residents who need a quiet space for working or studying. For instance, office employees as well as students are not able to concentrate on their work if their neighbours sing too loudly.

In conclusion, although some people support the idea of making noise freely, I would argue that appropriate controls are essential and reasonable.
