Governments and big companies should work together to reverse environmental damage, rather than making individuals responsible for that. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your opinion and relevant examples.
Environment problems have caused detrimental effects on human life, and it should be solved quickly and effectively. I, therefore, completely agree with the need for cooperation between governments and enterprises in dealing with environmental problems. Since not only does this allow the government to effectively handle both environmental and issues, but also ensure companies to take their responsibility in recovering natural environment.
Finding solutions for environmental damages demands a huge amount of money for state-of-the-art technology and scientific researches, so the government alone with a limited budget cannot shoulder all these costs. Moreover, other fundamental sectors, such as schooling, medical care, and security, also totally rely on spending of the government. It is well demonstrated through extremely pollution indexes recorded in many developing countries, where the government can only get a small amount of tax from low-income residents. Without the financial support of enterprises having strong finance, these governments hardly put the environmental issue in the list of priority.
Production of companies and factories is the main reason leading to pollution and ecological damages, that is why they should give a hand in alleviating the negative impacts and recovering natural habitats. As an example, a massive loss of marine creatures happened at Quang Binh, a coastal city, due to a leak of chemicals substance used by Formosa, a fertilizer factory locating nearby. This kind of accidents in production inevitably and frequently occurs on over the world, and its devastating environmental impacts are hardly reversible.
In conclusion, due to the deficiency of the state budget and the company’s environmental obligation, governments and business owners should act together in order to recover the natural environment.
