The prevention of health problems and illness is more important than treatment and medicine. Government funding should reflect this.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Whether the state should invest more in prevention rather than treatment of diseases according to their significance has aroused a controversy. Personally, I think that prevention should be made a priority when it comes to healthcare.

Firstly, spending more money on raising the awareness of the residents could eliminate a variety of health problems. Undeniably, a large number of the citizens lack common knowledge about the root causes and symptoms of some kinds of illnesses. As a result, holding more public campaigns to spread the information on health promoting can considerably help in preventing the health problems to emerge. For example, keeping the environment where one lives dry, clean and hygienic may limit the chances for malaria to arise. Furthermore, the government can also take part in spreading the substantial benefits of sports and exercise. Such regular practice would help enhance one's immune system, which later reduces the risk of contracting a variety of diseases such as obesity or even heart attack and cancer.

Secondly, state funding should also be shared more for the healthcare services and supervision. Offering more free health-check points in the hospitals can encourage people to check their health more frequently, which helps identify the serious health problems since the early periods. Instead of paying a great deal of money on curing the disease, which sometimes cannot be healed as it is detected too late, people should find ways to protect their health. What is more, tightening the safety procedures on food production and distribution can make an enormous difference in increasing the public health. As the recent years have witnessed the appearance of a rising number of restaurants and food stores, more food poisoning cases are recorded in hospitals. It is, thus, necessary for the government to pay more attention to the food safety issue in the food supply chain.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that more effort and money should be put on health issues prevention rather than cure by the government.

Curing the illness is important but not as significant as preventing the onset of diseases is the concern by some and Government financial aid should be allocated accordingly. In my opinion, I agree that prevention is better than cure to raise a health society

A good reason to provide more funds towards research in the area of medicine is justified by the number of increasing cancer patient’s day by day. Although the governments spend lot of money for treatment but regardless number of deaths or patients affected by this deadly disease is not declining. Our only hope is to find a solution to prevent the disease by allocating more research funds in this area.

Another point to consider is having future generation that is healthy and to see our children free of diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes. Funds are required in the area to educate young children on benefits of healthy eating and exercising. Such trainings, should , therefore create a society where youngsters can lead a healthy life.

Finally, more aid towards finding the root cause and preventing it will benefit wider population as less money will be required for treatment of diseases. Healthy society will bring more economical advantages to country as a fact that heathy individuals outperform others at workplace. Furthermore, heath also brings happiness as is seen by example of Netherlands which is considered most happy place to live and raise family and the citizens are very fit and active.

In conclusion, government needs to allocate more funds for important cause of preventing heath issues with research or awareness training is a must to have a healthy society and this will have a positive impact by having less ill people.
