Thank you so much.
Everyone should become vegetarian because they do not need to eat meat to have a healthy diet. Do you agree or disagree?
In our contemporary life, vegetarianism has entered the mainstream of many societies. The meat-free diet has been believed to be healthier and been encouraged to completely replace the regular diet. Although the benefits of plant-based food are undeniable, I disagree with the view of eliminating all of meat from our diets to achieve better health.
There is a plenitude of scienific studies about the advantages of adapting the vegetarian diet. Firstly, vegetables are rich sources of vital nutrients, including potassium, magnesium, and important vitamins such as vitamin A, K, E. Additionally, vegeterians have a tendency of consuming more high fibre carbonhydates with less saturated and trans fat. Therefore, they have lower risks of developing several chronic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Moreover, vegetarian diet is suitable for a variety of lifestyles because vegetables and fruits are not only affordable but also digestible, requiring less effort of preparing and cooking.
However, there are several disadvantages to take into consideration before becoming a vegetarian. The principle drawback of a totally vegetarian diet is the deficiency in essential nutrients which can only be absorbed from consuming meat, seafood and dairy. As an example, protein, iron, zinc, and calcicum, which are inadequate in plant-based food, are neccessary for the physical and mental development of children and teenagers, as well as individuals with special needs. Furthermore, some of nutrients composing of vegetables are unstable, which means they are easily soluble in water and fat. Hence, vegeterians may struggle to have a balanced meal packed with crucial macro and micronutrients and have to take additional supplements. That may make the vegetarian diet even more costly than the regular ones.
In conclusion, although in general vegetarianism have positive effects on human's health, it is not advisable for everyone to follow a totally vegetarian diet rather than a wholesome one.
