Ielts task 2: Financial aid to developing countries.

Hi all,

Please spend time on correcting my essay and give me any suggestions. Thank you so much.

Developed countries often give financial aid to developing countries, but it does not solve poverty so developed countries should give other types of help to the poor countries rather than financial aid.

Do you agree or disagree?

Many thriving countries donate a large amount of money to developing countries. Personally, it is a bad idea and there should have other solutions to tackle poverty, as will now be explained.

Donating the developing countries is not a viable solution to address poverty. First, the vast amount of sponsored money for the poor nations may be misused. The governments of developing countries do not have sufficient resources and in-depth knowledge to able to use public funds efficiently. Thus, financial aid might not go to the people who need most. Second, in some case, corrupt politicians wrongly use the amount of money in private purposes. Those politicians have become wealthier while their citizens continue to suffer from poor living conditions. Undeniably, the poor are lacking in basic necessities such as education, health care and food to improve their standard of living. As a result, there is a vicious circle of poverty in the long run.

It is of paramount importance to have alternatives to help the public escape from poverty. The simplest solution would be that developed countries should send specialists in different fields to developing countries. Well-versed experts pass down on in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in their fields for the poor. For example, Japan has been providing professionals in agriculture for Vietnam. Farmers have access to latest methods of efficient irrigation for more productive crops, which helps them make profits and have ability to cover the cost of living and improve their well-being.

In conclusion, giving poor nations financial aid has negative impacts on society, and there are feasible solutions to tackle poverty.
