In recent years, the purpose of constructing museums receives several different views of society. Although many opinions show that museum has been mainly built for entertainment demands, I personally support the idea of developing museums to deliver lessons to people, especially children.

There are various reasons why museums can become attractive destinations for both local residents and tourists. Firstly, numerous museums exhibit extraordinary things, which usually cause audiences to be curious about. The dinosaur museum in America, for example, attracts hundred thousand tourists every year, especially children and young people, thanks to its attractive exhibitions about over-sized pre-historic creatures. Secondly, numerous museums also celebrate interested cultural events, such as cuisine festivals and music exhibitions, attracting people, who like to find out about different cultures in all over the world. These events give people not only relaxed time but also knowledge about the world, this is a beneficial type of entertainment.

However, I argue that educational purposes are more important and should be channel into. Containing various types of human values in many different areas, such as history, biology and geography, many modern museums have been exhibiting vital evidences, which can help students understand more deeply about what they study. For example, prehistoric museum help people to have clear views about structures of creatures’ body and have a comparison to modern inhabitants. Furthermore, museums deliver lessons not only to students but also to all people in the society, and these lessons are easier to understand and cheaper to receive. As an example, numerous Vietnamese minority citizens in Da Lat city have been taught about traditional musical instruments in the local Western Highland Instrument Museum, where 1000 years old metal instruments were showed and tutored to used.

In conclusion, I agree that museum can be considered as centers of tourist services. However, the main reasons for the existence of museums should be understood that for educating purposes.
