People generally know that the environment is important. However, most individuals still don't take responsibility to protect the environment. Why is this ? What should be done to encourage people to protect the environment?

It is common knowledge that the environment is vulnerable to destruction by humanity. Nonetheless, many people lack the awareness to tackle this crisis altogether. This essay will analyze some reasons for this phenomenon as well as offer some solutions intended to raise the population’s awareness.

From my point of view, several negative aspects making people unwilling to protect their nature. First of all, many individuals believe that duty belongs to the authorities. Of course, this leads to their lack of motivation and encouragement to prevent the world from being severely polluted and adversely affected. Moreover, many people also hold a belief that even though they strive to protect the environment, others will continuously devastate it without considerations, so they give up very soon and let their habitat be ruined without prevention.

Because of these reasons, both governments and individuals ought to solve the problem. With regard to authorities, they need to introduce some restrictions on those who throw trash on the street. For instance, Singapore is believed to be so clean and environmentally friendly that many foreigners and prominent press honor them in numerous journals. The reason is that this nation’s residents have to pay for an immense amount of money if they are caught littering. What is more, people need to share and spread images of animals which are stuck in some objects such as bottle or nylon to inform the people of the harsh consequences. Besides, they can also post news about the organizations founded to gather people who want to protect the environment, which may motivate people to take part in.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that in order to prevent the world from disasters caused by the degraded environment, all individuals from all countries need to work together to save the Earth. Also, more measurements need to be brought into practice to obtain this goal.
