IELTS task 2. Could you please help me correct and give some comments on my essay?

Developments in technology have brought various environmental problems. Some believe that people need to live simpler lives to solve environmental problems. Others, however, believe technology is the way to solve these problems. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is obvious that advances in technology in this digital era have led to the emergence of some environmental problems. While there are strong arguments that people are able to mitigate issues related to environment by adopting a more simpler lifestyle, I would believe that the key solutions lie in technologies that are being developed with a breakneck pace.

On the one hand, leading a life with less sophisticated technology means that people inflict less damage on ecosystem, the indispensable and essential part of natural living species. First, people are overly dependent on energy from automotive vehicles such as cars and trucks whose exhaust emissions considered to significantly increase carbon footprint. Moreover, emissions stem from electronic gadgets such as air conditioners and water heaters also drastically accelerate the process of greenhouse effect; as a result, decrease in those energy consumption does involve an easier life. Second, since organic farmers do not apply fertilizers and weedkillers as their main farming method, which can contaminate soil and water to a large extent. Instead, they encourage the diversity of plants and wildlife on their farms in order to avoid environmental degradation as much as possible.

On the other hand, I would believe that technology plays a pivotal role in environment protection. First reason worth mentioning is that the issue of using renewable energy resources has been grown in importance these years. Thanks to technological methods, there would be less dependence on fossil fuel, which is over-extracted to meet enormous demand of people, and the prospect of cleaner air and reversal trend of global warming would be about to raised For instance, Japan is the nation which blazes a trail in the field of cars using environment-friendly fuels such as hydrogen and sunlight. Another reason supporting this idea is that development in cleaner technology, such as waste and sewage treatment in some developed countries, has made some some breakthrough in environmental conservation. As a result, this enable plastic bags and non-bio degradable substances be processed and recycled in a more efficient way.

In conclusion, although leading a simple life can certainly come in handy when addressing environmental problems, it seems to me that technology applications are providing a lot of solutions and this trend will gain ground in the future.
