Ielts Task 2 - co-edu schools

Question:

Girls and boys are able to achieve higher educational standards when they are educated alone in single-sex schools. Mixed or co-educational schools are not good for academic achievement.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Answer:

The appearance of same-sex schools has faded for years; simultaneously, single-sex schools only appear in Muslim nations nowadays. Several people claim that learners could get more leading academic achievements when they participate in a single-sex educational environment. In my opinion, this statement is justifiable due to reasons as follows.

Experts have shown that there is a difference in how boys and girls learn. Learning in mixed-gender schools makes each gender feel harder to acquire information from instructors. Otherwise, they can develop their strength in particular subjects in single-sex schools. In co-Edu schools, teachers could follow and aid them in their studies more effectively due to their character types and inclinations.

Furthermore, studies indicate that single-gender habitats can remove distraction and allow students to focus better on their instructors and the subject matter. It is undeniable that school romances do happen, which is created by distractions of different genders. These emotions of students bring both benefits and drawbacks to them, but usually negative ones. As a result, if students care too much about these issues, they cannot achieve their academic goals as desired.

On the contrary, single-sex schools stop children from learning about society and developing their necessary skills. Single-gender surroundings make them see the world differently compares to other environments. The lack of sex education is one of the hugest deficiencies that single-schools have.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that the previous statement is reasonable in educational and academic fields. Furthermore, if either parents or individuals want to achieve higher educational standards, they should consider single-sex schools as a choice.
