Artists need a certain amount of freedom to develop their creativity. Some people think that artists should have total freedom to express any thoughts and ideas.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Creative freedom is appreciated for artists on expression their innovative views and feelings on works of art. While some individuals believe that full of imaginative freedom plays a vital role in creating masterpieces for human beings, I agree with the opinion that painters should have enough liberty in advancing creativeness.
On the one hand, artists need to have the liberty to depict their point of views and sentiments through works without worrying about overcoming any limitations. It can see that most artists tend to utilize paintings as means of portraying emotions and delivering meaningful messages about social issues to viewers. Guernica painting, painted by Pablo Picasso, which refers to the city bombed in the civil war and a strong sense of patriotism. As a result, it has come to be an anti-war symbol and a reminder of consequences of war. Thus, freedom in creativeness may make a great contribution to create great paintings in the world of art.
On the other hand, there is no denying that works of art have certain significant impacts on public’s mind. Not that any works gets the approval and support from viewer as each painter has highly subjective point of views that may be able to provoke serious conflicts, or even war. For example, one of the most well-known paintings of Pablo Picasso about a female sexuality, which seen as outrageous portrait, has negative effects on young mind. In addition, there are some painters taking advantage of their paintings to present violent actions that may make severe terrorism in the world. Thus, limitations are required to avoid any harmful effect on the society.
In sum, although artistic freedom is priority for all of artists to create great pieces of art for human beings, painters should be responsible for their works of art to avoid negative influences to our society.
