IELTS TASK 2.

Nowadays, more and more people choose to walk rather than using personal vehicle such car, or motorbike… There are several reasons for this trend and government should take some actions to encourage them to keep this trend.

On the one hand, I can understand why some people prefer walking to driving.
Firstly, the number of them thinks that walking is the effective way to help them keep fit and have better health. Some research indicated that walking 30 minutes each day could boost the immune system as well as help the circulatory system increase blood to circulate and transport nutrient, oxygen from the cells in the body. As a result, several diseases such obesity or heart attack could be prevented. Secondly, walking is known as a way expresses the simpler life, which reduces the dependence on the natural resource such oil or electricity. The more people choose to walk, the more fossil fuels could be saved. Consequently, it not only protects the environment but also reduces the effects of global warming on the earth.
On the other hand, there are two measures to encourage people to spend their time walking. To begin with, more walking streets should be opened. For instance, In Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Hue is not only a place for people go to work but also is a place for visitor local came to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere as well as take part in many recreational activities. Furthermore, Government should invest money to improve the public transport system combined with walking zones. If people feel convenient and comfortable when walking to work, they will prefer to use them rather than drive personal vehicle.
