The figures illustrates the process in which water is purified through several filters. Overall, 5 main stages are shown on the diagram. Seawater goes through several treatments before being stored and sent to water supply water. During these treatments, impurities and salt are remove from water.

At the beginning of the process, the seawater intake goes through the pre-treatment filter, after which filter backwash occurs. Water is then forced through a membrance at high pressure, where impurities and salt are filtered out and only water molecules is allowed to go through the filter. In this second stage, seawater concentrate together with impurities and salt are returned back to the sea.

At the third stage of the process, water goes through post-treatment with chemicals such as lime, chlorine, and fluoride and becomes fresh water, which is pure enough for usage.Finally, water is stored and then delivered the water supply systems.

At the beginning of the process, the seawater intake (Not exactly correct....seawater comes in to the system through an intake pipe.) goes through the pre-treatment filter, after which filter backwash occurs. (Incorrect description. The backwash from this filtration stage is returned to the sea. ) Water is then forced through a membrance at high pressure, where impurities and salt are filtered out and only water molecules is allowed to go through the filter. In this second stage, seawater concentrate together with impurities and salt are returned back to the sea.

(You mentioned 5 stages, but only write about three of them.)
