Task 1 - Process - #01

The diagram below shows the life cycle of an insect called the cicada.
Summerise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The picture illustrates the stages in the life of a type of insect named cicada, from its eir eggs to the adult insect.

Overall, the cicada goes through three main phases to fully grow from its hatching period. During that time, it resides in three distinct locations from tree branches, underground, to the tunnel near tree roots.

The cicada initially spawns as many as 600 eggs* inside the branches of the tree. Within the following two to seven months, the eggs hatch into ant-like nymphs and move downwards to feed on sap* around the roots. At this point, the juvenile insect continues to live under the ground for at least two years or at most seventeen years.

The next stage is molting, when the cicada crawls up the trees to shed its skin. After 20-150 minutes for the step to complete, the insect reaches full maturity. Adult cicadas are then ready to lay eggs, indicating that the life cycle starts anew.

[*] is what I learn from Google, of course in the test room I don't know this so I'm not supposed to add such information.

Please check this for me. Thank you so muchhhhhh.

Also, I have one question and really need your advice:

The topic says "an insect", however, at the first stage, "eggs" are mentioned. Where should I use plural nouns and singular nouns in this kind of essay?
