The climograph below shows average monthly temperatures and rainfall in the city of Kolkata.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The multi-purpose chart illustrates the average amount of monthly precipitation with the red line provides data about the average heat in each month in the city of Kolkata.

Overall, the weather is hot in this city, with the temperature being always higher than 20-degree celsius the whole year. It is clear that autumn is the rainy season when the amount of rainfall is higher than 250 mm from July to September.

In the first months of the year, Kolkata is cool with average heat being under 25 degrees. Then it becomes hotter gradually to reach the highest temperature in May, at approximately 32 degrees. The heat constantly goes down to just above 20 degrees in December.

This location has a six- month rainy season from May to October and the rest is arid period including the winter and the spring. The yearly precipitation is around 1600 millimeters, and the rainy time contributes about 90 percent of it. In the dry season, the average rainfall does not exceed 100 millimeters. To be more specific, there is about 10 millimeters precipitation in December which is the lowest point of the bar chart, then rain slowly increases during the spring to hit the 100 millimeters milestone in May. The number of raindrops continues to go up during moist reason to reach a peak of just under 350 millimeters in July.
