IELTS task 1 PLEASE CHECK MY ESSAY

The bar chart shows the percentage change in average house prices in New York, Madrid, Tokyo, Frankfurt, London.

It is clear that house prices fell over between 1990 and 1995, but they significantly went up from 1996 to 2002. London house prices were by far the greatest changes over 13 years.

Over the 5 years after 1989, London and Tokyo house prices dropped by around 7%, while the cost of average house prices in New York decreased by exactly 5%. On the other hand, the figures for house prices in Frankfurt and Madrid rose by approximately 3%.

From 1886 to 2002, the cost of average house prices in London had a dramatic increase to about 12% above the 1989 average, which is the highest value shown on the graph. That of New York climbed to exactly 5% above the 1989 average. Homebuyers in Madrid had to spend more, with house prices rising to roughly 4% above the 1989 average. Homes in Madrid had a slight growth by a further 2%, while prices in Frankfurt still remained stable, and in Tokyo, they remained cheaper than they were in 1989.
