The current town center Islip and future plan for the development of it are illustrated on the two given maps.
The projected image of the town will be drastically different from that in present.
The town's road system will develop into a ring road that covers the whole center, the road will also be extended into dual carriageway. The new infrastructures such as bus station, shopping centre and a car park will be situated in the north west of the town with new resident area right next to the car park. The main road will have a change in purpose, which in the future is reserved for pedestrians only and two rows of shops will be merged into only one to the south of the road. The park, however, will be resized to make room for a new housing area. In contrast, the town's school is planned to increase in size to cater for new waves of residents.
