The map below is of the town of Canterbury. A new school (S) is planned for the area. The map shows two possible sites for the school.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The illustration delineates the plan of construction of a new school in Canterbury town with two possible options. As the image represents, we can see this region is covered by countryside area with housing area inside it, and there is a university to the north of the town.
The first possible site for the new school is estimated to be situated in the north east of the town, just outside the housing area and near the main roads that connects Sturry and Chartham. It may takes about 2 kilometres to the center of town and 3 kilometres to get to Sturry. As for students in Chartham, distance to school is estimated at 9 kilometres and they can travel along the main roads that runs in a northeast to the school.
In case of the second possible site for the new school, it is expected to be constructed in the heart of the town where the school has an equiddistant distance to either students from Chartham or Sturry. In addition, it may be convenient for students living in the downtown and the housing area to get to the school as the school is not far from these zones.
