The pictures illustrate a number of remarkable changes to a village of Stokeford over the course of 80 years starting from 1930.

Looking at the diagrams, it is obvious that a variety of significant developments have taken place in the village. During the 1930-2010 period, the village was partially transformed with the extension of housing area as well as the vanishing of lands for agricultural purposes.

In the year 1930, there were only a handful of houses sited on both sides of the main road which ran through the middle of the village. By 2010, the village witnessed a dramatic increase in the number of housing, which stemmed from the fact that farmlands to the north-east and the south-west of the village had been converted into residential areas. Along with the erection of more houses, additional roads were also built to give access to these new households.

Over the given period, the local shops located in the north-west of the village disappeared, whereas the post office next to / (border on) (within easy reach of) it appeared to remain untouched. It is also noticed that the primary school was expanded with 2 new blocks and the large house was transformed into the retirement home.
