IELTS TASK 1: Line graph
The graph below shows population figures for India and China since the year 2000 and predicted population growth up until 2050.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graph illustrates development in total population in two countries namely China and India over the course of 50 years started from 2000.
As we can see from the graph, it is obvious that both countries have witnessed the upward trend in growth of population. Number of people in India is predicted to increase much more than that in China in the futre.
At the beginning of the timeframe, population in India was reported as 1 billion people in total. Afterwards, the number has steadily rised through the period and it will keep maintaining that upward trend until 2050. At that time, number of people in India will be predicted to reach 1.6 billion people in total.
In 2000, population in China stood at over 1.2 billion people, which was higher than that in India at the same time. The figure has considerably climbed up to about 1.45 billion people in 2030. Since 2030, there will be a decrease in number of Chinese people, which will fall down to 1.4 people in 2050.
