please give your comments and suggestion to improve my skills and what band in your opinion im likely to get for this?
You live in a flat on rent, you have paid two months’ rent in advance and the tenancy agreement says you must give three month’s notice before you leave the flat. There is an emergency at your home and you have to leave as early as possible. Write to your landlady, tell her the situation and ask her what you would like her to do.
Dear Mrs. Jordan
I am writing this letter in order to intimate you that I will not be able to continue my stay in your flat anymore as I have an emergency at home and have to leave tomorrow.
I have only my mother at my home in Karachi (Pakistan). Yesterday , I received a call from our family doctor, saying that she is very ill and should immediately be taken to England for treatment. She is suffering from a gastric disease and at present stage of that disease; cure is available only at Central Hospital London. Therefore, I have to set out for Lahore, catching the first available flight i.e. tomorrow Monday 15th August 2004.
I know the agreement which we signed for tenancy, clearly states that a three month’s notice is mandatory, if I decide to leave the flat. But I request you to consider my problem and try to understand the situation I am going through. I will be deeply obliged if you allow me to leave your flat and return me at least one month’s rent out of two months’ advance I paid you.
Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Yours faithfully
