IELTS task 1: Forested land

The table indicates changes of coverage of forested land within 15 years from 1990 to 2005 in some areas across the world.
For the most part, statistics show two different trends. Some areas, Asia, for example, was witnessed steadily increasing millions of hectares forest, which climbed up from 576 ha in 1990 to 584 ha in 2005. Figures for Europe share the same mainstream, which increased by 12 million hectares after 15 years.
On the other hand, there were declines in figures for the others. In Africa, the number of trees was significantly lost, dercreasing from 749 ha in 990 to 691 ha in 2005. It was particularly true with figures for South America. For the last 15 year, its hectares of forest narrowed down by 64 ha. In Oceania, the hectares of forest decreased 1 ha each periods shown in the table. In North America, after losing 3 ha within 10 years, its figures levelled off until 2005.
