IELTS Task 1 - Describing two maps

Question: The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

The two maps illustrate changes in road access to a city hospital in the year 2007 and 2010. Overall, there were some notable additions, namely two roundabouts, a bus stop, and an extra car park.

In 2007, there were six bus stops located evenly on two sides of the Hospital Road, which was to the south of the city hospital. There was also a car park for staff and the public on the right of the Hospital Road.

In 2010, two new roundabouts were constructed with one was at the intersection of Ring Road, which surrounded the city hospital, and the Hospital Road. The other one was at the intersection of the Hospital Road and the City Road, which was further to the south of the city hospital. The six bus stops were demolished to make way for a new bus station, which was built to the south-west of the hospital, and it linked to the two roundabouts. The car park was separated: one for the staff which remained at the same location, one for the public which was set up to the east of the hospital, next to the Ring Road.
