The charts illustrate the happiness rates among married and unmarried people in the United State, which vary according to age, and how having children affects the overall cheerfulness ratings of married couples.

Overall, the happiness levels in America are below 50 percent. However, the happiness rates of married couples who have or not have children more twice than the same figure for unmarried people, except people in the 65 plus age group.

According to the charts, 45% of married couples in the youngest group are happy, compared to 21% of happiness ratings for people in the same age group but not married. The happiness levels of married people in the middle age group including people aged 30-49 and 50-64 are 44% and 40% respectively, exponentially twice than the figure for unmarried people in the same age, which recorded only 22% and 21% respectively. The percentage of happiness rates on people aged 65 and over is not the same as the other groups. 44% married people;e in this group are cheerful and the figure for unmarried people less than 10% (34% of happiness ranking for people who do not marry in aged 65 plus).

There is a little impact of having children on happiness levels. The proportion of happy, married people with children under 18 is 44 percent, compared to 41 percent for those with children over 18 and 43 percent for couples without children.
