IELTS Task 1: Australian and French energy sources

Can anyone give some feedback on my essay, please! Thank you very much

The pie charts show outputs for different energy sources in France and Australia in 1980 and 2000. It is clear that Australia relied heavily on coal for electricity, as France moved away from this source in favor of nuclear power.

In 1980, coal accounted for half of Australian total electricity production. Natural gas and hydro power each contributed 20 units to the country's production of 100 units. Meanwhile, only 10 units were produced by oil. The dependency on coal only increased when in 2000 Australia obtained three-quarters of its power from this source. As a result, the output for other sources dropped dramatically with the sole exception of hydro power, which grew to 36 units.

Although France produced less energy, 90 units, in 1980, its sources were more diverse. Around one fifth of the nation's output was produced by coal and another one fifth by natural gas. About one fourth was derived from nuclear power, and hydro power made up the rest. But by 2000, nuclear power had risen to become the main source, accounting for around 67% of French energy. France maintained roughly the same production levels for oil and coal while reducing hydro power output. A new energy source, natural gas, was used but its effect on the country's energy was minimal.
