Ielts task 1

The line graph compares the amount of carbon dioxide that a citizen released into the atmosphere in four particular countries, namely the UK, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal from 1967 to 2007.
People in Italy and Portugal tended to emit more Co2 to the atmosphere from 1967 to 2007. At the same time, that figure for people in the UK and Sweden gradually decreased.
From 1967 to 1997, the average carbon dioxide emissions per person in Portugal, Italy and Sweden sharply grew, from over 1,6 metric tonnes to about 2,1 metric tonnes in Portugal, from 4,1 metric tonnes to over 5 metric tonnes in Italy and from 8,5metric tonnes to about 10,2 metric tonnes in Sweden respectively.
There was a steady increase of 2007 in the average carbon dioxide emissions per person after 40 years ( from 1967 to 2007) in Italy and Portugal, stood at 7,9 metric tonnes and 5,6 metric tonnes. In contrast, the UK experienced a downward trend in the average carbon dioxide emissions per person, decreased to under 9 metric tonnes in 2007.
