IELTS TASK 1

The pie charts compare the highest degree of education that women obtained in the year of 1945 and 1995.

Overall, there was a significant change in women education throughout the period surveyed. Whereas, the proportions of women attending high school, sixth grade and no school constituted the largest one in 1945, these figures were totally vanished in the chart in 1995.

In 1945, almost none of women received a first degree, with merely 1% in total, but this rose dramatically to a half of total in 1995. Similarly, there was no percentage of female post graduates recorded in this year, but 1995 witnessed the increase of this figure to 20%. Interestingly, the proportion of women completing year 9 was similar to both years, at 10% each. The rising trend was seen in the category of year 12, from 4% in 1945 to 20% in 1995. By contrast, the remaining level of female education namely no schooling, year 6 and third grade fell to disappear from 35%, 35% and 15% respectively in 1945 to 0% for both three in 1995.
