These two pie charts compare the ownership and the renting home in the UK in 1991 and 2007.
In 1991, the most common one is the home owner, which is estimated at 60 percent. The next popular sector is social rented houses, which make up nearly a quarter. Most of the remaining housing were private renting, whose percentage is about 11%, and the rest is social housing.
Sixteen years later, the percentage of home owner increased swiftly, which is about two third of housing surveyed in the UK and it is still the most popular one. The figure for social renting halved, however, it is still the second popular types of housing. The percentage of private renting remains constant, on the other hand, there is just two percent of housing are social.
To sum up, the most popular type of housing in the UK is home owner and also the order of the figure from the highest one is still stable.
