IELTS GT: Essay on dangerous sports.

People doing dangerous sports activities like scuba diving and bungi jumping, they should be responsible for their own life and rescue workers should not risk their lives to save people.

Essay:

Many people play sports in order to keep themselves healthy and active. However, it is believed that those who take part in adventurous sports should be responsible for their lives instead of rescue workers who risk their own lives in order to save them. I disagree with this view.

First, the multitude of organizations employ people in their rescue team and they are paid higher perk and benefits. These companies want people to focus and enjoy the game without worrying for any accident. As a result, they charge higher amounts from customers and pay exorbitant salaries to their employees who are ready to risk their lives. The Go Water Park of Kenya, for instance, has employed more than fifty employees for rescuing people and pay them higher salaries than other companies, even though it is the small water park. Thus, many visitors come to this park without worrying for any mishap.

Second, those who work for rescuing others are trained and well-equipped to handle any difficult situation. Mishap can happen with anyone at anytime regardless of experience of players in sports. Rescue workers obtain proper training and are equipped with ornaments to save people if any untoward event occurs. Thus, it is essential that rescue workers should save others even if it takes to endanger their own lives. For example, it is reported that the trainers of the Sky Dubai, the skydiving institute of the UAE, get training of around six months so that they can handle participants properly.

In conclusion, I take the view that rescue workers should be responsible for saving the lives of others because they are paid for it and are effectively trained in it.
