You are working for a company. You need to take some time off work and want to ask your manager about this.
Write a letter to your manager. In your letter:
Dear Mrs. Swift
I am writing to apply for a two-week annual leave in September.
The reason for this request is that my sister is getting married. This is a special life event to her as well as our family, thus, I need to go back to India to assist my sister with the preparation and be with her on the wedding day.
The wedding ceremony will be held on the 28th September, and we need some time beforehand to prepare for it. Thus, I am hoping that you will allow me to take a full two weeks’ leave, from the 15th to the 30th of September.
In terms of work arrangement, the review meetings with my clients are scheduled in August, so I will have completed all the reports by then. I will ensure all the new service agreements will be in place for the clients before my leaving on the 15th September. I also have asked Jenny Hui to help look after my clients and assist with any urgent matters within this period, and she has happily agreed to help.
I hope to receive your approval for my leave application.
Yours sincerely,
Grusha Malah
