Ielts essay: Which band I can achieve with this essay?

Nowadays, most people learn academic study in university, but others think we should be encouraged to learn vocational skills more. Do you agree or disagree?

In the present age, a huge amount of people study academic knowledge in the university. Some people argue that vocational skills should be taught more. Personally, I subscribe to the view that students should learn vocational skills aside from academic knowledge.

Almost all people learn academic knowledge in university because this knowledge can offer a myriad of benefits for society and individuals. On the social level, students will get useful knowledge for their future jobs, hence contributing to a well-educated workforce for society. On the individual level, students could have an academic background, this helps learners find equivalent jobs. For example, marketing students have sufficient academic knowledge to get some jobs such as Band Manager or Marketing Assistant.

Notwithstanding, the advantages of learning academic knowledge, vocational skills should also be taught. This is because learning these skills is beneficial. Students learning vocational skills would have myriad experiences so it would be easier for them to find full-time jobs or part-time jobs. Hence, they could have adequate money to make a living. In addition, learning vocational skills is an opportunity for students to find jobs if they could not get equivalent jobs with their major in university. Nowadays, the figure for a well-educated workforce is increasing, so it is competitive to find a job with a Bachelor's Degree. Hence, vocational skills are another choice to help people earn money while they are unemployed.

In conclusion, I think that besides academic study, Universities should also teach vocational skills.
