Government should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
It is argued that officials should allocate the country's budget to develop railways rather than roads in any country. This essay strongly agrees with this statement due to several reasons.
To begin with, governments should invest in the development of railways because they provide a more efficient and safer travel and distribution options for both passengers and the owners of large companies. Compared to trucks which are only able to carry up to 20 tons of different products, trains can transfer thousands of tons in a shorter period of time. Moreover, railways give safer travelling opportunities to passengers in different countries. According to the statistics, for less accidents occur annually on the railroad network than on roads all over the world.
What makes finding the railway building projects more reasonable is that the endurability of these projects is way more significant than that of roads. For example, the railways in the northern part of Iran have not been repaired for about 150 years, which is a rather long time compared to the roads' refreshment and rebuilding that happens every few years. Thus, it is more economical for any country to budget railway buildings in the places proper for developing these cheap and guaranteed transportational vessels.
To sum up, government should develop railways than roads because of the advantages they bring to the country. Personally, I believe this argument is quite constructive.
