IELTS Essay Task 2

Please! I need help to check and mark my essay. Task: Some people argue that animal experiments should be banned because it is morally wrong, while others are in favor of them because of their benefits to humanity. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is true that animal testing is still a hard-solving problem because of opposite viewpoints of both supporters and opposers. I am partially convinced that tests on animals are immoral; however, they take indispensable parts in limited research these days.

Part of populations claim that animal experimentation should be prevented because because species of animals have right to live in the same fairness as human beings. They have to exist freely in their natural habitats without being influenced and captured by humans. Also, it is clearly an ethical guilt as people subject animals to deep traumas which result from medicines, chemicals and illness given into laboratory animals such as rats and monkeys. Their lives deserve to be respected.

However, many people are supportive of animal testing since its contributions to medical research are undoubtedly valuable. There are a large number of medicines and cures explored with the assistance of testing on animals. In 1950, for example, 100,000 monkeys were tested to develop polio vaccine which successfully treated millions of people including children. In addition, in spite of many efforts, researchers may not discover reliable alternatives to animal experimentation. As a result, animal experiments cannot be replaced in vital medical research. Instead of that, scientists are highly likely to palliate pains animals have to suffer from. I am also persuaded that animal testing should be only used for crucial medical research until other effective methods are available. Immoral activities related to testing on animals such as killing them for vivisection should be banned and punished strictly.

In conclusion, developing predominant alternative methods should be attached careful attention so as to replace animal experiments or use animals in the safe and moral way.
