The chart displays the proportion of total population in four difference countries (India, China, USA and Japan) between 1950 and 2002, prediction on 2050.

Overall, the population rate in all but one of the five countries decreased over the period given. While Chinese commanded the biggest shares in the first year, whom is estimated to replace by Indian in 2050.

In 1950, the percentage of population in China had the largest shares at nearly a quarter before falling steadily to one fifth over the 52 period years. And it will continue dip until 2050 with 15 %. Indian came by second largest shares at roughly 17% in the first fifty years, and it is expected to overtake China to be the largest population in the projected years.

By looking at the lowest figure in USA and Japan, the population of USA was just over 5% and decreased slightly by 2 % over the five decade years. Furthermore, it will remain relatively stable at 5% in 2050. Japanese was under 5 % throughout the period shown and is forecasted to declining by about 2 % in total.
