Some people believe that developments in the field of artificial intelligence will have a positive impact on our lives in the near future. Others, by contrast, are worried that we are not prepared for a world in which computers are more intelligent than humans.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

There is a debate whether artificial intelligence technology benefits us or poses a great threat to people because of its intelligence. In my opinion, the applications of AI techniques can offer us a new world with more convenience only when it is controlled by humans.

The widespread use of AI technology facilitates boosting global efficiency in education. Thanks to a good deal of accessible learning software using AI, people today have great advantages in improving their self-regulation. For example, the app Elsa Speak applies AI systems to create a suitable course for each learner after a level test. Not only that, it also can emphasize the weakness of students and give learners guidance to correct their mistakes via the app's proprietary voice recognition technology. As a result, such apps enable students to be self-taught irrespective of their location or schedule.

However, it can be considered as a concerning problem related to human existence if human intelligence is left far behind by AI intelligence. This is probably because in that case, AI is more likely to perform well than people and replace us in all aspects of life, such as studying, working, or solving problems. Not only are workers made redundant, but also humans become more lazy and useless than ever. Day by day, it can contribute to the lack of humans’ authority and control because of all decisions made by AI.

In conclusion, although the development of AI technology provides us with more beneficial tools to encourage global productivity, we always have to be cautious when applying them in real life in order to avoid AI taking control over humanity.
