Nowadays, more and more enterprises tend to improve profits regardless of their negative environmental implications. It is an urgent problem affecting the living environment, so the government needs to take strict measures against businesses’ regular disposal. (=discharge = throw away)

, the industries do not have a waste treatment process before throwing it away, leading to pollution of the environment and harm to people’s health when they are exposed. Enterprises use chemicals in production then they discharge them directly into the water source, as a result water absorbs hazardous substances. For instance, in Vietnam, an iron and steel manufacturing company discharged a large amount of toxic chemicals into the sea, causing mass accumulation of marine life in 2016. Not only does their ignorance of the environment affect the living organisms, but it also causes long-term damage to human health. When people are exposed to high levels of toxic wastes, they are more likely to be at risk of respiratory diseases.

To solve the environmental problems associated with industrial waste, the government needs some radical solutions, which involve closely monitoring the discharge process of corporations. Regular checks from authority should be implemented in the disposal process of businesses and they can face financial fines or legal action when firms do not obey. Imposed heavy fines, businesses consider whether paying a fine or improving the treatment process would be favorable to sustainable development without breaking the laws. Therefore, from strong measures from the government, businesses realize that environmental protection is essential for their survival in competitive markets.

To summarize, the environment is an issue that businesses focus on protecting during their operations to avoid polluting, thus the government also needs solutions to prevent illegal discharge from industry.
