While some people consider films simply a source of entertainment, others suggest that films should be educational. Personally, I believe films can be both amusing and educational.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that watching movies is for entertainment purposes only. One of the discernible advantages is to help people in reducing work-related stress. Indeed, most people are suffering from the ongoing pressures of day-to-day life which in turn can lead to depression or related psychological diseases; therefore, people choose watching movies as a form of helping people reduce stress by offering a good distraction that can drain negative emotions. In addition, there are numerous sorts of genres of movies such as comedy or sitcoms which make people laugh more and transmit positive energy to them.
On the other hand, people can broaden their horizons about cultural and educational value through films. The first benefit is that viewers can learn another language by watching foreign films. Indeed, the amount of theoretical knowledge acquired in school is still insufficient to enhance daily life skills, resulting in students always passively following the books without learning anything from the content. close to the life of the youngsters. Therefore, people have multiple chances to acquire new vocabularies and improve their listening skills through conversations in films. They can also imitate how the actors and actresses converse to sharpen their speaking skills. Another benefit is that students can learn valuable lessons by watching movies. One good example to strengthen this argument is that watching a film about family affection makes people have a better view or a movie about war may make people have a strong sense of patriotism for their country which could be seen as a positive educational effect.
In conclusion, movies not only entertain people but also provide them with great educational benefits such as a variety of languages and lessons about life.
