As a result of globalization, many countries and its cities all over the world are more quickly and easily modernized than ever, but this also cause some issues which are believed to be unbreakable barrier to human sustainability. Thus, I agree that this development trigger many kinds of environmental problems, while I argue that countries modernization is not the main and only one reason for this pollution phenomenon which can be solve by human’s effort.
To begin with, the development in some countries makes huge impact on nature. In fact, more and more resources and raw materials are required for building skyscrapers, creating newly-invented electronic equipment or vehicles. The amount of all of these urgent need which give a hand to create country and city’ s innovation is exponentially increasing everyday. This put the environment under pressure or even threat. Furthermore, becoming-richer country has many industrial companies which was built recently and its factories emit a huge amount of smoke, gas, heat and also carbon dioxide. After the development period, some areas in these countries will be damaged and the pollution could become worse with countless phenomenon, namely climate change, acid rain, global warming and ozone layer depletion.
Nevertheless, there are some other factors that are more likely to cause nature problems than countries’ development. Indeed, humans’ awareness is one the most serious reason for this trend. Throwing garbage, cutting and burning tree in the forest are considered typical examples of bad activities and poor attitude of those who cannot feel with mother nature. This also lead to several environmental problems. However, these problems can be reduced and prevent by improving citizens’ awareness. School curriculums, for example, could be changed to encourage students learn how to love and protect nature. In addition, it is also the responsibility of government to enforce strict regulation to control the pollution level during the development timeframe.
In conclusion, while I accept that the turning from poor to prosperity of a country have some negative effect on environment, I believe that the environmentally sustainable society can be maintain by some ways due to the other main reasons.
