The line charts show the average parents expenditure on their children-sports activities every month and the amount of children who taked part in three different sports in the U.K in the year 2008 and 2014

Overall , it can be clearly seen that British parents spending on their children' sports saw an considerable increase over a period shown. In terms of sports which children participated, football was more popular category than athletics and swimming

In 2008, at 20 pounds was spent on children'sports by British parents. The figures rose continuously over a period 15 years shown, the average amount of money parents in the uk gave their children'sports significantly increased over 30 pounds in 2014.
Looking at participation numbers, football saw the continuous popularity over the years on the line graph shown . Approximately 8 millions children took part in football while the number of children of swimming accounted for just about 1 millions higher the figure of participating in athletics. Moreover, athletics and swimming increased gradually,in 2014 participation in swimming almost doubted, at about 4,5 million children. The figure for football participation remained relatively stable over the following 6 years. By contrast, there was a fivefold increase in the number of children doing athletics.
