To the north of the river, the derelict warehouses were demolished and a turn into a car park. The arts centre next to the school was converted into a multi-screen cinema. The lake, which originally existed at the end of the river, became a small pond to construct a new university. Moreover, the old town near the woodland was removed and replaced by new offices. A further development was the construction of a shopping center near the north of the river to replace the old residential area
Looking south of the river, with the extending of the industrial complex, the whole woodland was cut off and the residential area near the south of this complex was removed as well.
