I wanted to the student know what idiomatic is for most here think idiomatic is do with idioms.

I would use a semi-colon there. I would also leave out the idea of "should", writing instead not expressed as they are [naturally / typically] expressed in English. Either "naturally" or "typical

Yes. That's a typical problem. If you explain it enough times, however, they'll eventually understand the difference.
