Vocabulary

idiomatic use of 'to live'?

Hi,

If you could comment on the construct [we will] live to do smth?

Example:

Ver1. If we don't act now, we'll live to regret it.

(1) What is the difference between Ver.1 and the more straigtforward version

If we don't act now, we'll regret it in the future.?

(2) Can you give me more examples with the construct ... will live to do smth?

thank you!
