Idiomatic usage

Is the phrase "to owe an obligation" correct? If so, doesn't the use of "owe" create redundancy? I have only ever heard of the phrase "to have an obligation." Thanks for your help.

You're right. You can owe someone a favor , but you can't owe someone an obligation . You have an obligation to that person.
